Software bundle

The Acoustic Edge PSC706 comes with a 2 CD software bundle. The first contains a variety of audio applications - including Yamaha YXG50 soft synth, Power DVD 5.1 full version, Syren Express 2.0, AudioPix, and Acid EXpress - and the necessary drivers.

The second CD, though, contains a copy of PowerDVD, an app designed to allow users to watch DVD movies. The utility can be used in conjunction with a DVD-RAM to set-up a computer as a complete Dolby Digital 5.1 theater system, even if you lack any of the necessary 5.1 speakers. Thanks to Q-Sound, the actual sound-signal will be adapted to whatever speaker-system is hooked-up. So, even if you only have a couple of stereo speakers installed, Q-Sound Surround will still be a able to present an audio signal of higher-quality than you would ever dare to expect.
