Below, we've provided a compilation of our results in the form of two tables representing integer and floating-point performance.


Amazing is the sole word that comes to mind.

It's incredible, but the 2.8GHz P4 demonstrated nearly twice the performance of the Athlon XP 2600+. Even if the Athlon would have been employing DDR333 memory, it wouldn't have been enough to come substantially closer to the P4.

It's clear that AMD will have to quickly release the 166MHz FSB DDR333 generation of the Athlon XP if they want to keep up in this arena.
