The benchmarks

The AMD Athlon "T-Bird" 1.2GHz took a solid lead over the Intel CPUs in this test. Don't forget, though, that this benchmark is a bit old and rather obsolete. Thus, it doesn't correctly adresses the P4 processors by not being optimized for them, especially as far as SSE2 is concerned.

The AMD 1.2GHz "T-Bird" is still in the lead here. In fact, even the 1GHz Athlon managed to trounce the Pentium 4...

Do note that these benchs don't do any favours for the Pentium 4, as they haven't actually been optimized to take advantage of the P4's micro-architecture like previuosly mentionned.
