Additional features of the Soyo SY-K7ADA motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 4 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, an integrated AC"97 sound-card, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

Installation

Installation of the SY-K7ADA isn't too complicated. User's should first set Dip-arrays RJ2 & RJ3 to "Auto", thus eliminating the need to set RJ1. Next, VJ1 should be set to "Auto", and FJ1 should be set according to the CPU and memory to be installed. Once that's done, simply pop the board into a case, plug it in, and boot-up.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the ALi version 1.72 patches, drivers for the sound-card, a utility for monitoring the hardware under Windows, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a digital rendition of the user's manual. A second, bonus CD includes Norton Antivirus 2000, Norton Ghost, and Adobe ActiveShare.

The SY-K7ADA comes with: one 80-pin ATA66/100 cable, and a floppy-drive cable.
