Additional features of the SY-7VCA, include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors, 2 USB ports, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors, quadruple BIOS protection against viral infections, and start-up from the mouse/keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also provided as standard equipment on this PC99-compliant motherboard. An AC"97 sound-card is also present. Finally, the SY-7VCA includes the "Debug LED" system, which provides diagnostic information during the boot up procedure.

Installation

Installation of the Soyo SY-7VCA is very simple. As there are no jumpers to be seen, one need only install the board in a casing, plug everything in, start-up, and jump into the BIOS to make any adjustments.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4.20 service pack, drivers for the sound-card, a utility for monitoring the hardware, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a digital version of the user's manual. A second, bonus CD includes 3 Symantec utilities: Norton Ghost, Norton Virtual Drive, and Norton Antivirus.
