Additional features

Additional features of the SY-7ISM include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors, 2 USB ports, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, quadruple BIOS protection against viral infection, and start-up from the keyboard/mouse, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature on this PC99-compliant motherboard. Finally, the SY-7ISM comes equipped with integrated audio, and video circuitry.

Installation

Installation of Soyo's SY-7ISM is pretty simple. Since there are no jumpers in sight, simply install the board in a casing, plug it in, boot-up, and make any necessary changes from within the BIOS.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the Intel v2.30.0014 patch for the i815 chipset, drivers for the sound card - as well as several Yamaha apps, Hardware Doctor for monitoring the hardware, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a digital version of the user's manual. A second, bonus CD also includes three Symantec apps: Norton Ghost, Norton Virtual Drive, and Norton Antivirus.



The hardware bundle

The SY-7ISM comes with a few other materials, including an 80-pin ATA66 cable, a floppy-drive cable, connectors for the parallel port and serial port, and an S-Video cable.
