Introduction
Today, we get back to our i815EP parade with the introduction of the Soyo SY-7IS2 motherboard. In the past, Soyo has always been good about keeping its product-line up-to-date. The SY-7IS2 takes full advantage of Soyo's patented "Soyo Combo Setup" menu to provide users with a wide range of Overclocking functionality - and with the ability to squeeze every last drop of performance from their CPUs. We must admit that it is a bit late to review a i815EP board especially since the new i815EP B stepping has been launched lately but like they say, it is better later than never, isn't it. So, without further ado, let's say we head in to the review...

Configuration
Configuration of the SY-7IS2 is accomplished primarily from within the BIOS - though there are a few jumpers sprinkled among its circuits. For user's who are so inclined, jumpers JP6/JP7 and CJ1/CJ2 can be used to set the FSB to 66MHz, 100MHz, or 133MHz. Jumper VJ2 can also be used to determine the amount of voltage that should be supplied to the CPU.
The "Soyo Combo Features" BIOS-menu can also be used to set the FSB frequency as indicated by the table above.
From there its also possible to set the clock multiplier to between 3X and 8X - though only if the installed CPU comes without a multiplier lock.
Next, we found a familiar function that allows the memory bus frequency to be set to 100MHz, 133MHz, or an automatic setting determined by the system.
A number of memory timing options can also be adjusted.
Next: Technical details.
