Technical details
Very little space has been left open around the CPU socket, which prevents the installation of large heatsinks. That said, the Shuttle's "Heat-Pipe" system includes both a radiator and a cooling-fan, and is already quite efficient.
The memory slots are located underneath the storage-device chassis, which makes access rather difficult.
The voltage regulation circuits are of the triple phase, bi-Mosfets variety.
The CPU retention bar is made of metal, so there's little chance of it breaking.
The Northbridge is capped with a heatsink and fan.
Three fan connectors are included, all of which are controlled by the hardware monitoring system.
Hardware monitoring is controlled by an ITE IT8705F circuit.
It's possible to manually assign IRQs.
Two USB 2.0 ports are included, thanks to a VIA VT6202 chip.
Audio capabilities are supplied by a C-Media CMI8738 sound-chip.
IEEE-1394/"Firewire" ports are supplied by a Lucent FW323 controller.
10/100Base-T Ethernet is made-possible by a Realtek RTL8100B network controller.
