Additional features

Additional features of the MSI Pro266 Master motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 6 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, an integrated AC"97 sound-card, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

Finally, lest we forget, the Pro266 Master includes an integrated RAID controller, a D-LED diagnostic panel, the Fuzy Logic 3 Overclocking utility, and the LiveBIOS system - which allows the BIOS to be updated online, over the Internet.

Installation

Installation of the MSI Pro266 Master is very simple, thanks to its jumperless design. Users need only insure that JP5 is in its default position, or else set to the desired FSB frequency. Once that's done, simply slap the board in a case, plug-in, and boot-up.

The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 versions 4.28v drivers, drivers for the sound-card, drivers for the RAID system, DirectX 8.0, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital rendition of the user's manual, Trend PC-cillin 2000, PC-Alert, 3D Turbo, and Fuzy Logic 3, as well as a number of other utilities.

The hardware bundle

The MSI Pro266 Master comes with: two 80-pin ATA66/100 cables, one floppy-drive cable, a USB connector for the back panel, a USB cable for making a network connection, and a thermal probe.
