Technical details

Plenty of space has been left open around the CPU socket, which should allow for the installation of large heatsinks.

The memory slots are too close to the AGP port thus introducing the chance of a retention bar coming into contact with the graphics card when installing memory.

Eight 3300mfds, and four 2200mfds capacitors have been placed around the CPU socket.

The CPU retention bar is made of metal, so there's little chance of it breaking.

The Northbridge is capped with a heatsink, but no fan.

The ATX connector is located to the east of the IDE connectors. The result is the power cables come nowhere near the CPU, and don't interfere with its ventilation. The 12v connector, for its part, is located west of the CPU.

Three fan connectors are included, but only one is controlled by the hardware monitoring system.

Hardware monitoring is controlled by a Winbond W83637HF circuit.

This board does not support the manual assignment of IRQs.

USB 2.0 (480Mbps) ports are present, thanks to the VIA VT8235 chip.

RAID ATA133 support is provided by a PDC20275 controller.

A Realtek ALC650, six-channel, 5.1-environment sound-card is included.

A Realtek RTL 8100B, 10/100Base-T Ethernet controller is included.

A Serial ATA port is included as an integrated feature, thanks to the Marvell 88i8031.
