Additional features

Additional features of the Abit KT7A RAID motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 2 USB ports located on the back panel, 2 more USB ports located on the board itself, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

Finally, the KT7A RAID comes equipped with a Highpoint HPT370 RAID controller which supports RAID modes 0, 1, and 0+1.

Installation

Installation of the KT7A is quite simple, since there is no real need to play with jumpers. Simply place the board in a case, plug it in, and turn it on.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 version 4.26 drivers, drivers for the RAID controller, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital rendition of the user's manual, a utility for flashing the BIOS, WinDVD, Buzzsoft Free Software, and VIA Hardware Monitor.



The hardware bundle

The KT7A RAID comes with: two 80-pin ATA66/100 , a floppy-drive cable, and two USB connectors for the rear panel.
