Motherboard: GA-6WMM7
CPU: Intel Celeron 300A PPGA
Memory: 64mb PC100 SDram (LGS)
IDE first channel Primary port: Quantum Fireball EIDE ST 3.2A
IDE second channel Primary port: Creative lab 48X cd-rom driver
Video card: onboard PV1.1 chipset
OS: Win98 built 4.10
DirectX 6.0
Winbench99 CPUmark99
As we can see in the above tests results, the GA-6WMM7 and the QDI-Winnex1
are on par in terms of performance on the Winbench99 CPUWinmark test.
Winstone99
The above tests results are showing that none of these motherboards is really taking the lead of the pack as there is only a miserable 3/10 of a point separating the lowest score from the highest score.
Video subsystem test
The onboard PV1.1 graphic card coming with the Gigabyte GA-6WMM7 is revealing very interesting performances here. A test with the Celeron 300A Overclocked at 450Mhz has been included in the above test results as it can be observed but the video performance gain obtained is not as high as we would have expected.
Overall Quality Evaluation
The below evaluation table is showing the strong points and the weak points of the tested motherboard, aditional informations helping to distinguish one motherboard particularities from another, motherboards being similar in performance. This is exactly where is coming into help this evaluation table.

Total Score obtained for this motherboard
90 points out of 100
The score obtained by this motherboard is 90 points out of 100. This is a very surprising score for i810 motherboard as this type of motherboard is kind of a bit disadvantaged compared to the slot 1 BX boards.
The strong points
The strong points of this motherboard are: the Dual BIOS technology, an excellent Overclockability, excellent video performances, a better expansion possibility offered by the presence of an ISA slot and a very good choice of clock frequencies.
The weak points
The weak points of this motherboard are: the use of jumpers and Dip switches instead of a totally jumperless design and finally the lack of a core voltage adjustment which would certainly have been highly appreciated in case of heavy Overclocking.
Conclusions
The Dual BIOS technology of the Gigabyte GA-6WMM7 is a feature that sets apart this motherboard from any other i810 motherboards. No doubts that anybody facing a virus attack such as the CIH will appreciate to see the Dual BIOS at work to refresh the main BIOS from the backup BIOS and enable the computer system to be usable again in less than a minute or so... The GA-6WMM7 is probably one of the best motherboard for primary schools and large office where a huge park of computers are used and where security is of a high concern...
