Additional features

Additional features of the Gigabyte GA-6OXE include: Wake on LAN, Wake On Modem Ring, PS2 connectors, 4 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, an integrated AC'97 sound-card controlled by a CT5880 circuit, Power Failure Recovery, Suspend To Ram, an SMbus connector, a Smart Card Reader connector, an IA port connector, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time.

Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant board.

Installation

Installation of the GA-6OXE is pretty smooth - despite the need to verify all its many jumpers. That said, their default positions should suffice in the majority of cases. Thus, one need only place the board in a case, plug it in, boot-up, and jump into the BIOS to finish making any adjustments.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 v4.23 service pack, drivers for the CT8550 sound-card, a utility for monitoring the hardware, a program for flashing the BIOS, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital version of the user's manual, Norton AntiVirus 2000SE, Norton Utilities 2000, Easy Tune III, DirectX 7.0a, and several other utilities.

The GA-6OXE also comes with: one 80-pin ATA66/ATA100 cable, and a floppy drive cable.
