Additional features

Additional features of the Fic FB11 include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for mice & keyboards 2 USB ports located on the back panel, 2 USB ports located on the board itself, Power Failure Recovery, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared communication, and start-up from the mouse/keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also provided as a standard feature on this PC99-compliant motherboard. An integrated AC"97 sound-card is also provided as standard equipment.

Installation

Installation of the FB11 was as uncomplicated as it can be. First verify that the jumpers are set how you like them, then place the board in a casing, and plug everything in.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 drivers v4.20, drivers for the AC"97 sound-card, a utility for monitoring the hardware, a digital rendition of the user's manual, and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Several utilities have also been included: Logo Genie - which permits users to post a logo to their start-up screen, FirstAid - for monitoring the hardware, Mediaring Talk99 for Internet telephony, and Clockometer, which is a utility that permits the system to be Overclocked without jumping into the BIOS. A second, bonus CD also contains Norton Ghost, Norton Antivirus, and Virtual Drive.



The hardware bundle

The Fic FB11 also comes with a hardware package, composed of an 80-pin ATA66 cable, a 40-pin ATA33 cable, and a floppy-drive cable.
