Additional features

Additional features of the EPoX EP-8KTA3 motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake On Modem Ring, PS2 ports for connecting mice and keyboards, 4 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, an optional integrated AC'97 sound-card, Power Lost Recovery, Suspend To Ram, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard. Last but not least, the EP-8KTA3 comes equipped with an LED diagnostic system.

Note that the two disk connectors relayed from the HPT370 controller are optional.



Installation

Installation of the EP-8KTA3 is child's play, since there are no jumpers to play with. Simply put it in a case, plug it in, and boot-up.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 version 4.25a drivers, drivers for the sound card, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital version of the user's manual, and Norton Antivirus.



The hardware bundle

The EP-8KTA3 comes with: one 80-pin ATA66/100 cable, one 40-pin ATA33 cable, a floppy-drive cable, and a USB connector for the rear panel.
