Additional features

Additional features of the Chaintech CT-7AJA include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for mice & keyboards, 2 USB ports on the rear panel, 2 USB ports on the board itself, Power Failure Recovery in three states, HDD Instant Recovery, Suspend to RAM, Trend ChipAway protection for the BIOS, RX/TX connectors for infrared communication, and start-up from the keyboard/mouse, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperatures, and of voltages is also provided as standard equipment on this PC99-compliant motherboard. The CT-7AJA also features an AC"97 sound card (which is integrated into the KT133 chipset), but a CMedia 8738 sound-card, as well as an S3 Savage4 graphics card, are also available as options.

Installation

Installation of the Chaintech CT-7AJA is relatively simple. As things stand, there is no need to play with switches, as SW4 only becomes useful in conjunction with CPUs that do not feature a multiplier lock. In short, installation consists of putting the board in a casing, plugging everything in, verify the jumpers for all the accessories, booting-up, and making a quick pass through the BIOS to finalize any adjustments.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 version 4.20 patches, a program for flashing the BIOS, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital version of the user's manual, Shepperd2000, PC-cilln 6, Norton Antivirus, Adobe ActiveShare, Appio, and X-Stop.



The hardware bundle

The CT-7AJA is escorted by a hardware pack that includes an 80-pin ATA/66 cable, and a floppy-disk cable.
