Additional features of the Shuttle AV18 include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for mice & keyboardsm 2 USB ports located on the back panel, 2 USB ports located on the board itself, Power Faliure Recovery, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared communication, and start-up from the mouse/keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also provided as a standard feature on this PC99-compliant motherboard. An integrated AC"97 sound-card is also provided as standard equipment.

Installation

Installation of Shuttle's AV18 is relatively simple. There is no real need to play with jumpers in this case, because the default configuration with recognize the processor configuration automaticly. Thus, simply put the board in a casing, plug everything in, and away you go.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 v4.23 drivers, drivers for the sound and graphics cards, a VIA utility for monitoring the hardware under Windows, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a digital version of the user's manual.

The hardware bundle

The AV18 also comes with a small hardware pack, which is composed of an 80-pin ATA/66 cable, and a floppy-drive cable.
