Additional features
Additional features of the Abit AT7 Max 2 motherboard include: PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 10 USB 2.0 ports, an SMBus connector, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.
The Abit AT7 Max 2 also includes a four-channel Highpoint HPT374 RAID ATA133 controller that supports modes 0, 1, and 0+1, two Serial ATA controllers, a Firewire controller, a 10/100Base-T Ethernet controller, and a Realtek ALC650 sound-card.

Installation
Installation of the Abit AT7 Max2 is quite simple, since there is no real need to play with jumpers. Simply place the board in a case, plug in, boot-up, and drop into the BIOS to make any adjustments.
Software bundle
The installation CD includes the VIA 4.41 patchs, drivers for the sound-card, drivers for the USB 2.0 controller, drivers for the RAID controller, drivers for the network adapter, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital rendition of the user's manual, the Award Flash BIOS-flashing utility, DirectX 8.1, Hardware Monitor, Norton Antivirus, WinDVD, and Buzzsoft.
Hardware bundle
The AT7 Max2 comes with: two 80-pin ATA133 cables, a floppy-drive cable, a Serial ATA cable, a backplate with a pair of USB 2.0 ports, and a cover for the ports on the back of the system.
