Additional features

Additional features of the AOpen AK77 Plus motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 6 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, an integrated AC"97 sound-card, Power Failure Recovery, Suspend to RAM, Suspend to Disk, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

Finally, let's not forget that the AK77 Plus also includes a Promise Technologies PDC20265R RAID controller.

Installation

Given that the AK77 Plus is not entirely Jumperless, users will be required to set a jumper, and a few Dips previous to installation. That said, the entire process is pretty simple. All that really needs to be done is set the proper jumper for the proper FSB setting. The Dips can even be ignored entirely, as most CPUs come equipped with a multiplier lock.

Software bundle

The installation CD includes: the VIA 4-in-1 version 4.32v patch, drivers for the sound-card, RAID drivers, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital rendition of the user's manual, a Windows-compatible hardware monitoring utility, and Norton Antivirus.

Hardware bundle

The AOpen AK77 Plus comes with: one 80-pin ATA100 cable, one 40-pin ATA66 cable, one floppy-drive cable, and a pair of USB connectors for the rear panel.
