Additionnal features

Additional features of the DFI AK75-EC motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 4 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, Suspend to RAM, BIOS anti-viral protection, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

Installation

Installation of the AK75-EC is pretty simple, since there are few jumpers or Dips present. User's need only insure that SW1 is set to auto to insure the system determines a proper clock multiplier setting, and that JP10 is set to correspond to the bus speed of the CPU.

Software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 version 4.28v patches, drivers for the sound-card, a Windows-compatible hardware-monitoring system, DirectX 7, and PC-cillin 2000.

Hardware bundle

The DFI AK75-EC comes with: one 80-pin ATA66/100 cable, and a floppy-drive cable.
