Additional features

Additional features of the Shuttle AK10 include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors, 4 USB ports, an AC"97 cound-card, Power Faliure Resume, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared capability, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also provided as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard. As mentioned earlier, Shuttle also provides the PC Doctor LED Debug system as an option.

Installation

Installation of the AK10 proceeds without incident. There are no jumpers to worry about, so one need only install the board in a case, plug it in, turn it on, and jump into the BIOS to make any adjustments that come to mind.



The software bundle

The installation CD includes the VIA 4-in-1 drivers v4.24, drivers for the sound and video cards, a VIA utility for monitoring the hardware (Windows only), Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a digital version of the user's manual.

The hardware bundle

The AK10 also comes with an 80-pin ATA66/100 IDE cable, a floppy drive connector, and a com2 serial connector.
