Additional features

Additional features of the Shuttle AE22 include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors, 2 USB ports located on the rear of the board and two others which are available via a connector, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse/keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speeds, CPU temperature, and of voltages is provided as a standard option on this PC99-compliant motherboard. Finally, both an AC"97 sound-card, and a 3D graphics card are provided as integrated components.

Installation

Installation of the Shuttle AE22 is simple, in spite of the presence of jumpers. The default settings of J1, JP3, and JP5 correspond to the auto-detection feature, which essentially allows the system to configure itself, according to the processor installed. So, one basically needs to put the board in a casing, plug it in, boot-up, and make a quick jump through the BIOS to make any adjustments.



The software bundle

The installation CD contains the Intel v.2.30.0014 patch, drivers for both the sound & video cards, Hardware Doctor, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital version of the user's manual, SynthCorel Lite - for MIDI applications, and AmiFlash BIOS.

The Shuttle AE22 also comes with a couple of pieces of hardware: an 80-pin ATA66/100 cable, and a serial port cable.
