Installation
Installation of the Asus A7V may seem complex, owing to the many jumpers that are scattered on board. After checking them briefly, however, to assure there all set in the default position, they cause no further trouble. Don't forget that the majority of the jumpers serve functions that are just as easily accessed from the BIOS. In short, simply install the board in a casing, plug everything in, verify the jumper settings, boot-up, make a quick pass through the BIOS to finalize any adjustments, and you're done.
The software bundle
The installation CD includes the patches, and drivers for the Via KT-133 chipset, Asus PC Probe to monitor the hardware, Asus Update to update the BIOS, Trend PC Cillin 98, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital rendition of the user's manual, and a utility capable of reading the stats of the motherboard.
The hardware bundle
The Asus A7V is accompanied by: an 80-pin ATA66 cable, a 40-pin ATA33 cable, a disk drive cable, a cable for relaying 3 additional USB ports towards the back, a bag of spare jumpers, and a thermal sensor.
