Additional features

Additional features of the MSI 845PE Max2 FIR motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 4 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, an integrated AC"97 sound-card, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse or keyboard. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

The 845PE Max2 FIR also comes with a number of other features, including the D-LED diagnostic panel, PC Alert, BlueTooth support, Live BIOS/Live Drivers, Fuzzy Logic 4, PC alert 4, BIOS multilangue, Live Monitor, and Live Update 2.

Installation

Installation of the 845PE Max2 FIR is pretty simple, because there is no pressing need to play with the on-board jumpers. That said, user's should read through the user's manual to familiarize themselves with the various jumper settings, just in case.

Software bundle

The installation CD includes the Intel .inf version 4.04.1007, drivers for the sound-card, drivers for the RAID controller, DirectX 8.1, drivers for the network controller, USB 2.0 drivers, Intel Application Accelerator, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital rendition of the user's manual, Trend PC-cillin 2002, MSI Live BIOS, Live Update 2.0, and a number of other utilities.

Hardware bundle

The Micro-Star 845PE Max2 FIR comes with: one 80-pin ATA100 cable, one floppy-drive cable, a D-Bracket, a backplate with Firewire ports, and an S-Bracket for sound-support.
