Additional features

Additional features of the MSI 845E Max2 motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, six USB 2.0 ports, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, an SPDIF interface, and start-up from the mouse, keyboard, or at a pre-set time. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

The MSI 845E Max2 also incorporates a Realtelk ALC650 AC'97 2.2.-compatible sound-card, a 10/100Base-T Ethernet controller, a RAID 0+1 controller, and Bluetooth wireless technology, as well as a D-LED diagnostic panel, the Windows-compatible Fuzy Logic 4 Overclocking tool, the Live Bios / Live Drivers and Live Monitor update systems, and PC Alert III hardware monitoring technology.

Installation

Installation of the MSI 845E Max2 pretty simple, since there are no jumpers to fool around with. Simple slap the board in a case, plug-in, boot-up, and drop into the BIOS to make any adjustments.

Software bundle

The installation CD includes the Intel 4.00.1009 patch, drivers for the sound-card, drivers for the network controller, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital rendition of the user's manual, Fuzy Logic 4, Live Bios / Live Drivers, Live Monitor, PC Alert III, and a number of other utilities.

Hardware bundle

The MSI 845E Max2 comes with: two 80-pin ATA100 cables, a floppy-drive cable, a D-Bracket, an S-Bracket, a backplate with a Bluetooth connector, a USB connector, and a user's manual that comes complete with an installation guide.
