Additional features

Additional features of the Micro-Star 845 Pro 2 R motherboard include: Wake on LAN, Wake on Modem Ring, PS2 connectors for connecting mice & keyboards, 4 USB ports - two of which are located on the back panel, an integrated AC"97 sound-card, Suspend to RAM, RX/TX connectors for infrared, and start-up from the mouse, or keyboard. Hardware monitoring of fan speed, CPU temperature, and of voltages is also included as a standard feature of this PC99-compliant motherboard.

Also, let's not forget the integrated LED diagnostic panel, or support for Live BIOS, PC Alert, and PC-2-PC networking.

Finally, we can add to that list the addition of an integrated RAID controller, and a C-Media CMI8738, 6-channel audio-card.

Installation

Installation of the 845 Pro 2 R is pretty simple, thanks to its jumperless design. Simply put it in a case, plug-in, and boot-up.

The software bundle

The installation CD includes the Intel .inf version 3.10.1011 patches, drivers for the sound-card, drivers for the RAID controller, DirectX 8.0a, Adobe Acrobat Reader, a digital rendition of the user's manual, Trend PC-cillin 2000, MSI Live BIOS, Media Ring, and several others.

The hardware bundle

The Micro-Star 845 Pro 2 R comes with: two 80-pin AT100 cables, one floppy-drive cable, cables and connectors for PC-2-PC networking, as well as a connector for the USB ports, and a D-Bracket.
