Conclusions
While the Media XP couldn't be labeled as "indispensable", it's diverse features are a solid complement to any computer with an Abit "Max" series motherboard such as the AT7 or the IT7.
On the other hand, the Media XP's chief weakness is the fact that is not 100% compatible with motherboards other than those we've listed. This is a regrettable state of affairs, since the Media XP would be a welcome addition to many other systems out there.
The Media XP's principal advantage, though, is the fact that it doesn't require users to tie-up any of their external USB ports to use it. In fact, it comes with a number of its own ports, which will effectively enhance the options of an existing system.
In short, Abit has added another winner to its line-up. The Media XP's features are well though-out, well implemented, and well received to boot. The remote control alone is a flagrant example of what it has to offer; one can never understate the attraction of being able to access a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM without being tied to a desk.
