The package
The Media XP comes with a full package of goodies, which includes a number of cables, as well as applications such as WinDVD 3.1, and WinRIP 2.0.

WinDVD, as its name indicates, is an application used to read DVDs. WinRIP, on the other hand, has nothing to do with "Resting in Peace" -- far from it. In fact, this handy little application can be used extract digital audio from CDs, and can read a number of different audio file formats, including the infamous MP3.

As expected, both applications are accessible via the remote control that is included with the Media XP. In fact, the remote has two buttons specifically identified as "WinDVD" and "WinRIP", which makes their use pretty clear. And, let me just say, there is nothing more enjoyable that being able to interface with these two apps while you're crashed-out on the sofa across the room... hehehe :).

From a compatibility standpoint, users will also be pleased to know that the Media XP and its remote are also compatible with a number of other programs, such as PowerPoint, Media Player, PowerDVD, Winamp, etc.
