Nvidia
Finally, here is the long awaited beast. I had the extreme pleasure to discover nVidia newest offering named the Gefore FX graphic card which is based on the NV30 GPU. This power monster is reputated to be 3 times more powereful than the Geforce 4 Ti4600. Equiped with DDR 2 memory, the NV30 core will be clocked at no less than 500Mhz. According to AMD's technical staff who introduced the Geforce FX to me, this graphic card is focussing on cinematic reality by incorporating 128-bit rendering like used in the movie industry. The launching of the Geforce FX is sheduled for 2003 Q1.
Note the presence of a cooling system almost identical to the one of the Abit Siluro Otes Ti4200. The reason behind this is that there was a thight collaboration between these two manufacturers. This cooling system is using a 7200 rpm blower and a Heat Pipoe system to ensure an high efficiency cooling on both the GPU and memory chips.
Tomorrow, end and conclusion of the 2002 Las Vegas Comdex.
