Nero CDspeed Read tests

The Asus CRW-5224A's in-lab read performance closely matched the figures provided by the manufacturer, as you can see. We were able to achieve scores of 48.9X near the end of the disk, with an average score of 39.15X.

Nero CDspeed Write tests

The CRW-5224A took 2 minutes and 47 seconds to write a 694MB file to disk, using a 52X write-speed. Note that our test file demands that the drive finalize with Lead-in and Lead-out after the data has been burned-in, which considerably lengthens execution time.

CDDAE99 DAE tests

The CDDAE99 digital-audio extraction tests revealed speeds of 23.6X from track #1/the inner surface of the CD, 38.1X from track #18, and 48.2X from the outermost track, #37.

Our test CD was burned using Nero 5.5, and consists of thirty-seven 20.2MB audio tracks.
